Vulnerable

about

I wrote this song back in 2009, and probably would have never recorded it if Patrick Crean didn't comment on how much he really likes this song. Not bad for a 15 year old experiencing an abusive relationship, I suppose. I guess I finally decided the world could hear it, and not the edited version I sang around my family where I was afraid to use the words "Hell" and "abused".

lyrics

(Chorus)
If you think you're gonna get your way
Well baby you better kiss me goodbye
That's not the girl I wanna be
And I don't want your kind of guy
So now that it's all said and done
You better find some other girl
Who's vulnerable enough to fall in love with you

You made me believe you cared about me
Thought we were going somewhere
Well once again I'm back to nowhere
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize
You never really cared about me after all this time

Chorus

You put me through Hell and you knew all too well
I really thought you loved me
Then you went and made a fool out of me
And I always swore I'd never date a guy like you
But look at me, I'm so naive
Boy you had me falling for you

Chorus

You used me, abused me
Molded me to your liking then refused me
I cried for you, did everything for you
Fell into this big black hole all for you, only for you
Just to make you happy
Look where it's gotten me

Chorus

If you think I'm gonna pine for you
Baby you better get a clue
I promised myself a while ago
That's one thing I won't ever do
So now that you're gone and I'm moving on
And you're hunting down some other girl
I bet she's vulnerable enough to fall in love with you
